Dental Extractions

Dental extractions occur when you have damaged or diseased teeth that cannot be saved, or when you have teeth that are causing or are likely to cause oral health problems.

Excessive tooth decay, tooth infection, and crowding can all require a tooth extraction. Those who get braces may need one or two teeth removed to provide room for their other teeth as they shift into place. Tooth extraction is a relatively quick outpatient procedure.

Wisdom Teeth

A surgical procedure to remove one or more wisdom teeth — the four permanent adult teeth located at the back corners of your mouth on the top and bottom.

If a wisdom tooth doesn’t have room to grow (impacted wisdom tooth), resulting in pain, infection or other dental problems, you’ll likely need to have it removed. Sometimes a wisdom tooth needs to be removed when it is likely to cause future oral health issues.

Implants

Dental implants are a reliable, long lasting, way to replace missing teeth and maintain oral health, function, and appearance.

When a tooth is lost due to injury or disease, a person can experience complications such as rapid bone loss, defective speech, or changes to chewing patterns that result in discomfort. Replacing a lost tooth with a dental implant can significantly improve the patient’s quality of life and health.

Full Mouth Restoration

This procedure replaces a full arch of teeth for a comprehensive reconstruction of the patient’s mouth

Bone Grafting

When an area of a patient’s jaw lacks enough bone to support teeth or implants, bone grafting can solve the problem.

The goal of bone grafting is to provide good quantity and quality of bone at the desired site for proper form and function. Bone grafting to facilitate dental implant therapy enables patients to improve their capacity for more effective chewing and also can improve appearance when visible missing teeth are replaced. Improved function also includes improved speech when missing teeth affects a patient’s ability to speak normally.

Anesthesia

When medically appropriate, our oral surgeons and team put patients to sleep for their procedures. This insures a comfortable and pain-free surgical experience.

Anesthesia medications are administered through an intravenous line (I.V.). IV sedation is available for all types of oral surgery. A patient may choose IV sedation for simple procedures depending on their level of anxiety. Most people having their wisdom teeth removed or having a dental implant placed will choose IV sedation.

I had a tooth extraction that needed to be done ASAP. Not only was Dr. Hollar able to get me in the same day as my consultation, his whole team made me very comfortable. I was anxious about pain because I am 7 months pregnant and could not get any sedation, only local anesthetic. Dr. Hollar completed the extraction within 10-15min and I didn’t feel anything. I was very impressed with the whole team and will definitely be coming back should I find myself with any other oral surgery needs.
